"Since 2019, the Ministry of SOEs continues to conduct SOE transformation comprehensively, and the progress of SOE transformation has currently reached 80 percent," he stated at the SOE International Conference here on Monday.

The minister is prioritizing the next 1.5 years ahead to boost the process of SOE transformation to reach 100 percent.

Performance of the SOEs Ministry in 2021 had resulted in several significant achievements, such as the income of all SOEs in 2021 reaching Rp2,292.5 trillion, or up by 18.8 percent, as compared to 2020.

The results of SOE transformation show that various policies that had been prepared and implemented had gone in the right direction.

"The continuity of transformation is crucial for SOEs to play a role as value makers and development agents to become more effective and give a real contribution to the country and the Indonesian people," Thohir remarked.

He added that the SOE International Conference is part of the Indonesian government's initiative to inform the international community regarding the SOE transformation process being conducted and elaborate on the importance of SOEs for the Indonesian people.

The Ministry of SOEs is holding the SOE International Conference: Driving Sustainable and Inclusive Growth at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on October 17-18, 2022, as part of the G20 Trade, Investment, and Industry Working Group (TIIWG).

The conference discusses the role of SOEs in three priority agendas of Indonesia's G20 Presidency: healthcare, energy transition, and financial inclusion.

SOEs, as the agents of development, play a role in expediting national economic recovery since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, through approaches including strengthening the SOE business ecosystems that involve private parties in strategic program cooperation.
